Answer customer questions clearly (FAQ content and markup)

Publish the questions customers actually ask, each followed by a short, direct answer, and mark them up so answer engines can read them.

The problem

The site does not answer common customer questions in a clear question-and-answer form, answers are buried in long text, or Q&A content has no structured data.

How to spot it

  • No page has a set of question-style headings.
  • Questions are followed by long paragraphs before any answer appears.

Why it matters

Answer engines, voice assistants and AI search features look for a clearly stated question followed by a direct answer. Customers want the same thing before they call or buy.

What happens if you leave it

Your expertise exists but is hard to find, quote or act on.

How to fix it

  1. Collect real questions from sales calls, support emails, reviews and search terms: pricing, process, timing, guarantees, areas served, comparisons.

  2. Write each question as a heading (H2 or H3) and start the answer immediately below it with one to three sentences (roughly 40–80 words). Add detail after that.

  3. Use lists or tables for steps, options and comparisons.

  4. Mark up genuine Q&A content with FAQPage structured data, matching exactly what is visible:

    <script type="application/ld+json">
    {
      "@context": "https://schema.org",
      "@type": "FAQPage",
      "mainEntity": [{
        "@type": "Question",
        "name": "How quickly can you come out?",
        "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "Usually within one hour in central Dhaka, 24 hours a day." }
      }]
    }
    </script>

  5. Link to the FAQ from relevant service and product pages.

Common mistakes

  • Inventing questions nobody asks, just for keywords.
  • Marking up questions that are not visible on the page.
  • Expecting FAQ markup to guarantee a rich result. Search engines decide when to show them.

How to check the fix worked

Validate the markup with the Schema.org validator or Google's Rich Results Test. Re-run the audit; the AEO checks should pass.
